Senior Conference Producer - Energy & Commodity Markets

What we're looking for
Argus produces industry-leading conferences for the global energy and commodities markets. We specialize in crude oil, refined products, LPG, fertilizers, metals, energy transition, biofuels, generation fuels, agriculture and chemicals. With conference teams based across Houston, London, São Paulo, Singapore and Shanghai, we deliver a global portfolio of more than 40 market-leading events annually.
We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Senior Conference Producer to join our Production Team. This is a high-profile role responsible for leading some of Argus' flagship energy conferences, working with senior industry executives, key customers and internal stakeholders across the business.
The successful candidate will be a proven self-starter with a minimum of 5 years' experience producing commercial B2B conferences. They will be comfortable operating independently, making decisions with confidence, and taking ownership for the commercial and editorial success of their events. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can effectively manage demanding and senior stakeholders, and is confident representing Argus in meetings with C-suite executives and major industry players.
You will be responsible for developing market-leading conference programs, securing influential speakers, driving event growth strategies, and delivering commercially successful events from concept through to execution. International and domestic travel will be required to attend conferences, client meetings and industry events.

What you will be doing
Lead the research, development and delivery of world-class conference programs through extensive market engagement and client consultation.
Produce commercially successful conferences that are recognized as must-attend events within their industries.
Secure senior-level speakers, including C-suite executives, government representatives and industry leaders.
Define and continually refine the commercial proposition and strategic positioning of each event.
Build deep market expertise and develop comprehensive market maps identifying key stakeholders, commercial relationships and growth opportunities.
Create and execute clear growth strategies to drive attendance, sponsorship and long-term market relevance.
Drive innovation in conference content, networking formats and delegate experience.
Represent Argus confidently in meetings with senior external stakeholders, clients, sponsors and industry associations.
Effectively manage and influence demanding internal stakeholders across editorial, consulting, commercial, marketing and leadership teams.
Work collaboratively with sponsorship sales, delegate marketing, delegate sales and operations teams to maximize event performance.
Monitor industry developments, identify emerging opportunities and recommend new conference launches where appropriate.
Develop and maintain a strong industry network through regular client meetings and attendance at industry events.
Deliver multiple conference projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards and meeting deadlines.
Travel as required to attend events, conduct client meetings and represent Argus in the marketplace.
What we're looking for in you
5+ years' experience producing commercial B2B conferences, preferably within energy, commodities, finance or related sectors.
Demonstrated success in developing and growing profitable conference products.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify market opportunities and translate industry developments into compelling event propositions.
Proven experience engaging with senior industry executives and securing high-profile speakers.
Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and influencing senior decision-makers.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Degree educated or equivalent professional experience.
