Delegate Sales Executive - Conferences

Argus produces commercial conferences for the energy and commodities markets. We specialise in agriculture, chemicals, crude oil, energy transition, fertilizers, generation fuels, LPG, metals, oil products. Argus has dedicated conference teams in Houston, London, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Shanghai and Singapore, running a global portfolio of 40+ events.
Working as a key member of the conference team, you will develop databases for conferences identifying the most appropriate contacts and telephoning them to sell delegate places. You will conduct research and liaise internally with Argus staff to identify the people and organisations that should be attending the conference and contact them to ensure their attendance.

Key Responsibilities
Own delegate revenue delivery across a portfolio of assigned conferences, consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Drive new business acquisition and delegate retention through proactive outbound sales activity, relationship building and market engagement.
Develop a deep understanding of assigned markets, customer challenges and event value propositions to deliver consultative sales conversations.
Identify, engage and convert senior decision-makers through targeted prospecting, networking and telephone outreach.
Maintain a healthy and accurate sales pipeline within Salesforce, ensuring full CRM compliance and forecasting discipline.
Deliver accurate weekly and monthly forecasts, providing clear visibility on risks, opportunities and expected outcomes.
Maximise revenue through upselling, cross-selling and effective management of delegate enquiries.
Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sponsorship, Editorial and Event Operations teams to drive event success and audience growth.
Support audience development initiatives by identifying new target accounts, industry segments and growth opportunities.
Represent Argus professionally at industry events and provide on-site support when required.
Maintain a high level of activity across calls, meetings, proposals and pipeline generation while consistently meeting KPI expectations.
Take full ownership of assigned events, continuously seeking innovative ways to increase delegate attendance and market engagement.
Skills and Experience
Proven success in delegate sales, conference sales, B2B sales or a similar target-driven commercial environment.
Strong track record of consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
Demonstrated ability to generate new business and develop opportunities through proactive prospecting.
Effective pipeline management and forecasting skills with strong CRM experience, ideally Salesforce.
Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Ability to engage confidently with senior-level stakeholders and decision-makers.
Commercially minded with the ability to identify customer needs and communicate value effectively.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple projects and deadlines.
Highly resilient, self-motivated and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
Degree educated or equivalent professional experience.
