The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a pure hunter role focused on creating new business opportunities for the Delegate and Sponsorship Sales team. The SDR is responsible for identifying new companies, new contacts and new markets, generating qualified leads and expanding Argus' reach into untapped audiences. Success is measured by outbound activity, qualified opportunities created, pipeline generated and contribution to event revenue growth.
Key responsibilities
Generate qualified leads and sales opportunities through proactive outreach to net new prospects.
Identify and research new companies, contacts and market segments that are not currently engaged with Argus.
Conduct high volumes of outbound calls, emails and LinkedIn outreach to build pipeline for the Delegate Sales team.
Qualify prospects and hand over opportunities to Delegate Sales Executives for conversion.
Build and maintain target account lists through market mapping, research and audience development activities.
Drive expansion into new industries, geographies and customer segments to support conference growth.
Maintain accurate prospect and activity data within Salesforce.
Leverage AI, automation and sales technology to improve prospecting effectiveness and productivity.
Collaborate closely with Delegate Sales, Marketing and Sponsorship teams on lead generation campaigns.
Consistently achieve activity and pipeline generation targets.
Skills and experience
Experience in SDR, BDR, lead generation, telesales, delegate sales or another outbound sales role.
Proven ability to generate leads and create new business opportunities.
Strong prospecting, research and qualification skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Comfortable making high volumes of outbound calls and outreach activities.
Experience using CRM systems, ideally Salesforce.
Organised, resilient and highly self-motivated.
Degree educated or equivalent professional experience.
