Event Operations Manager - Marketing (12 month FTC)

Within our marketing department, Argus produces events for the energy and commodities markets. We also participate in 3rd party exhibitions and events.
Argus is looking for an enthusiastic Events Marketing Manager on a 12m FTC who will play an important role in the operations management and delivery of our large portfolio of events. The ideal candidate will be a creative, driven, energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys the challenges of working on multiple international events.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct market research and negotiate with venues and suppliers for forums and 3rd party events
Manage the contracting process through to a signed contract, and liaise with legal to ensure the process adheres to internal policy
Ownership of decisions relevant to logistics: supplier choices; leading the on-site team in running of the event from start to finish
Work with Product & Regional Marketing on the promotion of events
Accurately track budget per event and make decisions to keep within budget while maintaining a high quality attendee experience
Organise and produce onsite signage, including merch, printed material
Accurate reporting of event’s spend including performance against predetermined metrics. Alert and make recommendations when tracking demonstrates we are not on target
Building internal relationships to ensure commercial alignment and event coordination
Keep client experience and brand exposure at the forefront of your event delivery
Skills and Experience
2-3 years’ experience in logistics coordination for marketing events, business events or conferences
Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to network
Strong negotiation skills
Process driven and skilled problem solver
Able to use initiative and take ownership of projects as well as work as part of a team
Excellent co-ordination, organisational skills and time management skills
Experience of researching and analysing event data and recommending improvements
Excellent IT skills, including detailed work with excel spreadsheets
