As a key member of the commercial team, you will drive accelerated commercial growth within the Genfuels sectors across APAC through a value-led, consultative sales approach. You will also own complex opportunities, end-to-end, deepen sector expertise, and influence cross-functional priorities through high-quality client insight. In this role, you will operate as a “go-to” specialist: shaping sector plays, improving conversion, and elevating how Argus positions its Genfuels services in the market.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline & Growth Ownership: Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline within the assigned sector; ensure consistent coverage, progression, and conversion.
Sales Targets: Consistently meet and exceed agreed sales growth targets for the sector/territory (Genfuels/APAC), with clear plans to deliver results.
Fertilizers & Agriculture, Sales Strategy & Execution: Define and execute sector-specific sales strategies (use-cases, buyer personas, value messages) and tailor proposals to multi-stakeholder buying groups.
Complex Deal contribution: Lead higher-value, multi-threaded sales cycles from prospecting through proposal; manage competitive positioning, and objections.
Product & Market Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of Argus Genfuels services and roadmap; track market trends and competitor activity to sharpen positioning.
Client Engagement & Value Realisation: Build trusted relationships, diagnose needs proactively, and communicate measurable value outcomes.
Cross-Functional Leadership (without authority): Partner with Account Managers, Product, Client Success, and Marketing to align on account plans, campaigns, and sector initiatives.
Enablement & Best Practice: Share winning approaches and sector insights; contribute to playbooks and peer coaching.
Scope of Ownership
Own sales performance and pipeline health for an assigned sector/geography.
Manage independently the sales process from prospecting through proposal, with emphasis on complex, higher-value deals.
Provide structured, recurring client feedback to inform product evolution and sector roadmap priorities.
Act as a sector champion for internal and external stakeholders (events, webinars, client sessions).
Suggest new sector-specific sales strategies then deliver on those once agreed.
Collaboration Model
Partner with Account Managers and Client Success Managers (non-exclusive) to drive expansion and seamless client experience.
Work closely with Product Managers to translate client needs into actionable roadmap inputs.
Align Marketing on sector messaging, campaigns, content themes, and target audiences for sector-specific demand generation.
Required Skills / Capabilities
Sector & Market Experience: Strong commodity markets experience, in at least one Genfuels subsector (Coal, LNG, Biomass, Petcoke, Carbon, Hydrogen).
Sales Experience: 8–12 years of successful B2B data/information sales of complex solutions (or equivalent track record).
Consultative / Value Selling: Ability to quantify value, shape solution fit, and sell to multiple stakeholders including senior decision-makers.
Communication & Influence: Excellent written/verbal skills; strong stakeholder management and cross-functional influence.
Execution Excellence: Organised and outcome-focused; able to manage multiple opportunities and internal dependencies.
Analytical & Commercial Acumen: Uses data to spot trends, diagnose performance gaps, and improve win rate and sales velocity.
Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines.
