Our Agriculture & Biofuels expertise is one of the most successful parts of our rapidly growing Analytics business. As we enter an exciting expansion phase, we are now looking for an experienced, passionate and innovative Senior Manager, Analytics to join our Agriculture & Biofuels team. At its core this role will contribute to the delivery, improvement and expansion of our existing Agriculture & Biofuels services; provide inspiring thought leadership; build enduring relationships with the industry and reinforce Argus’s reputation as the first voice clients turn to when they want help to understand the market.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in agriculture and/or biofuel market analysis and forecasting to play a prominent role in the development of the next generation of Argus’s Analytics services and to position themselves as a subject market expert in an area that is vital to the future of our business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead analysis on South American agriculture, biofuels and biofeedstocks topics to provide input to Argus off-the-shelf weekly, monthly and quarterly analytical reports.
Coordinate analysis and the development of data sets and models to support short and long-term forecasting of supply, demand, capacity, imports and exports, price and production costs for key agricultural markets, biofuels, renewable fuels and feedstocks
Build strong understanding of, and interlinkage with, other associated Argus Services’ data and capabilities to ensure market views remain consistent across our offerings;
Represent Argus Analytics as an agriculture and biofuels subject matter expert at appropriate events, client engagements and interaction with internal stakeholders.
Wide internal and external awareness on the South American agriculture and biofuels markets, and contribute to global initiatives
Skills and Experience
Educated to degree level from a leading university; further education (e.g., Masters, MBA) a plus
Approximately 10 years of relevant experience, most likely gained in either a similar market intelligence or consulting role or within the agriculture, biofuels or related industries
Strong understanding of Brazilian agriculture and/or biofuels markets, how they operate and key market trends; demonstrated ability to discuss market fundamentals in a simple, concise way
Exceptional communication and relationship building skills. Fluent in English and in Portuguese. Spanish or other languages are a plus.
Highly numerate with experience analysing comprehensive datasets quickly and meticulously with excellent attention to detail and accuracy focus
Strong IT skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint. Awareness of other statistical and programming languages such as R is an advantage
Direct or indirect management experience is not essential, but highly desirable.
Flexible in approach, highly motivated, able to work independently and willing to foster the development of junior members of the team.
