Gas Market Reporter Intern at Argus Sao Paulo: learn journalism, analyze data, and cover gas markets with curiosity and integrity. Build contacts, write vividly, meet tight deadlines.
We usually respond within a week
Argus is where smart people belong and where they can grow. We answer the challenge of illuminating markets and shaping new futures.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for a passionate and resourceful intern to join our editorial team in Sao Paulo.
You will be passionate about writing, with an interest in the commodity markets and their economics. You will be able to engage with contacts, develop relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
You do not need prior experience of commodities markets. Intelligence, curiosity, writing ability, resourcefulness and a real desire to learn and become a journalist are the primary qualities we look for in a very diverse pool of candidates.
What will you be doing
· The internship is a challenging mix of reporting, analysing data and writing breaking news.
· We provide extensive training in good writing, industry understanding, source development and data analysis.
· You will also attend events and conferences to write and produce stories for Argus’ online feed. You will be expected to meet contacts and expand Argus’ network.
· An Argus news intern does not cover a single market. Rather, the intern both finds areas that are not commonly covered by market reporters and helps expand existing coverage with news, data visualization and analysis.
· Reporting on and writing about markets is one of the most difficult and rewarding of all journalistic disciplines. Information is hard to find and verify; Argus customers expect the highest standards of analysis, accuracy and journalistic ethics; deadlines are unbreakable; and a mix of self-reliance and teamwork are essential.
