Argus produces commercial conferences for the energy and commodities markets. We specialise in agriculture, chemicals, crude oil, energy transition, fertilizers, generation fuels, LPG, metals, oil products. Argus has dedicated conference teams in Houston, London, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Mumbai and Singapore, running a global portfolio of 40+ events.
Working as a key member of the conference team, you will develop databases for conferences identifying the most appropriate contacts and telephoning them to help sell delegate places. You will conduct research and liaise internally with Argus staff to identify the people and organizations that should be attending the conference and contact them to ensure their attendance.
The key to success is developing an understanding of the commodity sector to tailor your approach to meet the needs of customers and build strong relationships. We are committed to continuing our exceptional growth and need ambitious and innovative sales professionals to drive our business forward.
What will you be doing?
· Support the Conference Sales team in contacting prospective delegates.
· Conduct market research to map relevant companies, segments, and audience profiles for each conference.
· Assist in updating contact lists, databases, CRM records, and other internal tracking tools.
· Prepare simple activity reports, outreach summaries, and pipeline updates with guidance from the team.
· Provide initial support for delegate inquiries, and escalating questions to the responsible team members when needed.
· Participate in internal training sessions related to sales development, the commodities markets, and conference operations.
· Contribute insights from market research and audience profiling to help improve outreach strategies.
What we’re looking for in you
· Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Business, Communications, International Relations, Economics, or a related field
· Genuine interest in commercial roles, client engagement, and international markets.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Organization, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
· Ability to collaborate in a team environment and openness to feedback.
· Familiarity with productivity tools.
· Proactive attitude and curiosity to develop new skills.
· Advanced English proficiency (for communication with global teams).
· Spanish is considered a plus.
· Highly motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to thrive in a results driven environment
