What will you be doing?
The Analytics & Consulting team is part of Argus Media, the largest independent energy publisher in the world. We provide clients with customised analysis, research, data and commentary services on international energy markets. Our work is firmly focused on markets, their structure, logistics and economics. Analytics & Consulting draws on Argus’ key strengths – energy markets expertise, global networks and proprietary databases – to deliver real client value.
The team has two divisions. Analytics produces a range of subscription-based forecasting products, which provide an outlook for market fundamentals and price over the short and long term, for many of the commodities Argus covers. The Consulting side undertakes tailor-made commissioned assignments for a wide variety of clients and across various sectors including oil & gas, chemicals, fertilizers, hydrogen, biofuels and energy transition solutions.
The principal focus of the role would be to work with the consulting team in Singapore to execute and deliver a wide range of consulting assignments for clients in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. The Manager will structure the project delivery whilst guiding the junior staff on research methodology whilst also being actively involved in the delivery of Argus’ advisory services. Apart from the Manager’s consulting team, he / she will tap on the expertise of consultants and product or industry specialists in our global consulting community in London, Houston and Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and actively contribute to the execution of consulting projects, including market analysis, modelling, stakeholder interviews and the development of client-ready deliverables.
Ensure all outputs meet Argus’ quality standards, providing thorough review, analytical oversight and clear direction to the project team.
Guide and mentor junior consultants, shaping their research skills, analytical approaches and professional development.
Structure project workflows, ensuring efficient project delivery and alignment with client requirements and timelines.
Engage directly with clients throughout the project lifecycle, contributing to discussions, clarifying requirements and presenting insights as needed.
Develop and enhance in‑house consulting tools, models and methodologies.
Collaborate with Argus’ global network of consultants and subject‑matter experts.
Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, scoping discussions and creation of marketing or thought‑leadership materials.
Contribute to presentation materials and, where required, deliver insights at industry conferences, forums or client workshops.
What we’re looking for in you
4+ years of work experience related to renewable fuels (e.g. biofuels), or relevant sectors.
Experience in commodities research and analysis is a bonus.
Knowledge of model building that would enable guiding of junior consultants.
Client-facing experience.
Sound communication skills (written and verbal).
Some experience having led a team.
Keen awareness of cultural differences.
Results driven and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
Enthusiasm to acquire new skills and knowledge.
Commercially minded.
Ability to develop a team that values collaboration.
