We are looking for a driven, passionate, and a resourceful market analyst/reporter to join our team covering the biomass markets. The ideal candidate is innately curious and personable, able to quickly become a subject matter expert and lead coverage within the designated product portfolio. In addition, you must be interested in energy, policy and economics, enjoy networking and building relationships.
What will you be doing?
You will be writing engaging market intelligence and analysing spot prices that are timely, accurate, objective, and meaningful for our clients. This includes maintaining a strong network of contacts within the industries to source original, relevant and exclusive content. You will be personable and be able to quickly become a subject matter expert and lead coverage within the designated product portfolio. You will enjoy collaborative work with colleagues from various backgrounds, many located in Argus’ other offices around the globe. There are opportunities to travel, attend industry events, present at industry conferences and lead webinar sessions.

Monitor and assess fast-moving markets to produce daily price assessments, intelligence, market commentaries, news, analysis, and reports.
Closely monitor the markets for new opportunities such as new assessments and client requirements.
Establish strong relationships with key members of the industry and business leaders through meetings and daily communications to gain an in-depth understanding of your market.
Proactively generate news leads and pitch stories, contribute copy to the relevant publication and the online news service, and contribute to unique content (blog posts, white papers, webinars, podcasts, etc.).
Collaborate with colleagues on the desk and other teams across other portfolios and in different locations to enhance and drive coverage.
Attend meetings, conferences, and industry events to build contacts, report on news and represent Argus in the industry.
Build your industry expertise and writing skills to provide readers with first-class market insights and analysis.

What we’re looking for in you
A Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, economics, business, or a relevant field.
Prior experience in the financial, energy, commodities or journalism sector is beneficial but not essential.
Excellent writing, grammar, and numeracy skills
Experience in delivering breaking news, insightful market reports, and in-depth analytical articles is a bonus.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite with experience in Excel.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to network and build contacts with industry executives.
Able to work independently while engaging and collaborating in line with the Argus values: Excellence, Integrity, Partnership, and Inclusivity.
