In this role you will be responsible for setting and executing the product strategy for Argus’ data and analytics platforms, ensuring they drive sustainable growth, deepen customer engagement, and strengthen Argus’ competitive position.
The role will work closely with senior stakeholders to define a clear, multi‑year product vision, informed by deep customer insight, market intelligence, and commercial priorities, and partner with the technology organisation to translate that vision into a scalable, reliable and high‑quality product roadmap.
The scope of the role includes Argus Direct (web), mobile services, APIs, and data feeds, with accountability for end‑to‑end product lifecycle management.
The role does not include ownership of the Argus Open Markets platform.
What will you be doing
· Define and own a multi‑year product vision and strategy for Argus’ subscription data platforms, rooted in customer workflows, that accelerates profitable growth and embeds Argus data more deeply into customer decision‑making processes.
· Translate strategy into a clear, prioritised product roadmap, balancing customer value, commercial impact, technical feasibility, and delivery capacity.
· Partner closely with global technology leadership to ensure effective execution, architectural coherence, platform scalability, and high standards of reliability and data integrity.
· Work with sector leadership to shape sector‑level product strategies, supporting portfolio management, investment prioritisation, and lifecycle decisions, in close collaboration with editorial, commercial, and business development teams.
· Lead and develop the product management function, including:
o Owning and continuously improving the product development and governance process
o Building strong product management capability, ways of working, and talent pipelines
o Setting clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards
· Drive product innovation, bringing external market insight, competitive intelligence, and emerging technology trends into Argus and nurturing a culture of customer‑led innovation.
· Collaborate with commercial leadership on pricing, packaging, and value articulation, ensuring products are commercially compelling, clearly differentiated, and aligned with customer willingness to pay.
· Represent product leadership at executive and senior forums, influencing investment decisions, strategic priorities, and cross‑functional alignment.
Success Measures
· Sustained, profitable revenue growth attributable to product‑led initiatives
· Increased customer adoption, engagement, and retention across Argus platforms
· Timely and high‑quality delivery of new products and enhancements aligned with clearly defined customer and market needs
· Growth in API and data‑feed penetration across priority customer segments
· Improved competitive positioning of Argus’ digital and data platforms
· Positive customer feedback, including improvements in NPS and qualitative client insight
Skills and Experience
· Senior product leader with deep experience in data, analytics, or price reporting services, ideally from a Price Reporting Agency (PRA) or adjacent market‑intelligence business, with a proven track record of identifying market opportunities and delivering product‑led growth.
· Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with the ability to balance customer needs, technology constraints, and revenue outcomes.
· Proven people leader, experienced in building, leading, and motivating high‑performing product teams in global, culturally diverse, and matrixed organisations.
· Demonstrated experience leading change, introducing new ways of working, governance models, or operating rhythms to improve product effectiveness and speed of execution.
· Self‑motivated, credible at executive level, and comfortable operating with ambiguity, with the ability to influence without direct authority and align diverse stakeholders around a shared product vision.
