What will you be doing
As a Senior Sponsorship Manager, you will play a pivotal role in expanding Argus Media’s commercial footprint across the global commodities sector. This role is focused on identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving growth initiatives for our conferences and digital products portfolio. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including marketing, editorial, and product development—to design and execute strategies that increase market share and revenue.
Success in this role requires developing a strong understanding of the energy and commodities sectors, tailoring your approach to client needs, and building long-term relationships. International travel will be required for business development activities and to oversee sponsor and exhibitor engagement at events.

• Lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, including new markets, products, and strategic partnerships.
• Develop and implement growth strategies for the conferences division, leveraging market research and competitor analysis.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects through networking, industry events, and proactive outreach.
• Negotiate and close high-value commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client needs.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute campaigns that drive brand awareness and lead generation.
• Represent Argus Media at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, acting as a brand ambassador.
• Prepare and deliver compelling business proposals and presentations to C-level executives and key stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to inform business strategy.
• Work with product and editorial teams to develop tailored solutions that address client challenges and market demands.
• Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Skills and Experience
• 3+ years of experience in business development, commercial partnerships, or B2B sales.
• Proven ability to negotiate and close sponsorship agreements.
• Strong analytical skills to identify commercial opportunities.
• Clear communication, consultative approach, and customer focus.
• Proactive in prospecting, booking meetings, and engaging decision makers.
• Strategic mindset to identify initiatives and growth opportunities.
• Strong organization and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Results‑oriented profile with experience in upselling and cross‑selling.
• Creative thinking to design client‑aligned solutions.
• Ability to build relationships both in person and remotely.
