We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Engineering Group Lead who is passionate about building scalable, reliable, and secure technology solutions. You will combine technical expertise with leadership skills to guide engineering teams in delivering high-quality software that meets business needs and drives innovation.
What will you be doing
Working as the Engineering Group Lead you will be part of the Technology and Data team, leading engineering teams, working on different projects and closely collaborating with product, quality assurance, other Engineering Group Leads and teams to deliver solutions that meet the required business needs, quality, and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Apply software and data engineering best practices to develop maintainable, scalable, reliable and secure solutions based on common architecture patterns and principles
Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions that are fit for the future while maintaining a strong focus on practicality, user experience and user satisfaction.
Communicate progress, challenges, and technical trade-offs to stakeholders.
Lead and mentor engineers, foster a culture collaboration, innovation, accountability and ownership
Ability to understand the big picture and be hands on / dive into the code
Be a visible, approachable leader, removing bottlenecks and enabling the teams
Ensure that all engineering work meets agreed standards of quality, including code reviews, testing, and best practices with a hands-on approach
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to constantly seek ways to enhance their skills and processes
Stay updated on emerging technologies and evaluate their adoption
Embed AI, automation, and pragmatic DevOps practices to boost speed and quality
Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
Strong understanding of:
o Service oriented architecture, microservices, event-driven architectures
o Cloud native development with AWS services (Lambda, Step functions, API Gateway, EC2, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, RDS Aurora, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, Athena etc)
o DevOps practices (CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerization)
o Applications development
Strong experience of operating within an Agile delivery methodology
Strong experience of delivering .NET/C# and Angular Web Apps (hands-on current/recent experience)
Advocate of SOLID principles and design patterns
Strong databases experience (SQL and NoSQL)
Instrumentation, monitoring, alerting, observability
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to think creatively, combined with a results-oriented mindset
Practical experience with applying AI/ML tools and techniques as an extension of the software engineer’s
toolbox
Strong inter-personal and communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical
stakeholders
Desired experience building/extending/maintaining a trading platform
