This is an editorial position tasked with overseeing our ferrous metals coverage in Asia and leading the daily Steelmaking Raw Materials (ASRM) report, driving high quality coverage and helping develop the strategic direction of our coking coal and iron ore coverage in particular. This Editor will have a strong Asia-Pacific focus but will also work closely with colleagues in other regions.
The role requires you to lead a team of editors with varying degrees of experience on ferrous metals markets:
Oversee the assessment of prices, edit news, commentaries and analysis, all to deadline, and work with global metals editors and Business Development to set the agenda of daily Argus Steelmaking Raw Materials report.

Propose new ways to develop the report and to expand the contacts base applying the highest standards of journalistic independence and integrity.
Help to raise the profile of the report through representing Argus at conferences, events and by delivering expert content via webinars and white papers.
Guide the team’s coverage, including editing news and coaching less-experienced reporters.
Ensure a close understanding of market developments through contact with key market figures —traders, brokers, investors — to build relationships, gather news and identify opportunities for price and news development.
Collaborate and work closely with the ferrous metals teams in Asia and the US.
Produce and oversee the assessment of daily prices, market analysis, news and reports.
Find engaging ways to explain complex issues – including using charts and graphics as appropriate.
Build and curate data sets that help explain market dynamics.
