Graphic Designer (Commodity Market Data)

What you will be doing
In this role, you will be involved in the daily production of Argus’ various publications and uploading them to subscribers to meet strict deadlines. You will produce graphs, maps and graphics using programs such as Excel, Adobe InDesign and Illustrator; create new publications and update existing ones; and communicate effectively with report editors and sub-editors to ensure a smooth process. You will recognize errors in layout and improve quality where warranted. Given the rapid development of new data visualisation software, you will adopt new tools as they become available.
What we’re looking for in you
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent in subject area
- English proficiency
- Proficient with Adobe InDesign, with knowledge of the software’s technical aspects, template production, automation, and scripting. Being an Adobe Certified Expert for InDesign would be an advantage
- Proficient in Excel. In particular, creating graphs and manipulating data (for use in InDesign layouts)
- Tech savviness and willingness to learn new tools
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop
- Experience at a technical/administrative/expert-user level of CMS systems including asset management, permissions, templating and editorial workflows; an understanding of the Censhare software is a strong advantage
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. Knowledge of JavaScript would be an advantage
- Excellent eye for detail and ability to follow processes and ability to work to strict publication deadlines
- Ability to work to strict publication deadlines with a minimum of supervision but also to work within a team structure
- Ability to work either earlier or later hours and accommodate some shift work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and clarity of communication (precise, succinct, effective)
- Highly organized and able to manage individual workload
