Group Accountant

What we’re looking for
We are looking for a qualified Group Accountant to take responsibility for all group related accounting tasks which include but are not limited to the intercompany matrix reconciliation and elimination, consolidation, impairment review and support of the tax team in transfer pricing matters. In this role, you will be reviewing, reconciling and investigating the submissions by the regional Controllers. You will also be the dedicated resource to drive the completion of the annual Group and statutory audit process.
In addition, you will support the treasury function in their day-to-day activities and play a pivotal role in the evolution of our financial process and control landscape, supporting all efforts to improve and upgrade it.
You will report to the Deputy Group Financial Controller.
What will you be doing
- Prepare the monthly group consolidated management accounts.
- Work closely with the four regional Financial Controllers and the FP&A function as part of the monthly management and quarterly bank reporting.
- Ensure monthly reconciliations and reviews are completed in a timely fashion and review points are addressed before month end close
- Support the annual statutory audit process including the preparation of financial statements and disclosures.
- Support the Global Tax team in their preparation of tax provisions, deferred taxes and tax balances required for monthly management reporting.
- Work closely with the Finance and Tax teams to increase efficiency and accuracy of existing Finance processes.
- Maintain appropriate accounting policies for the group and keeping track of changes in accounting policies and standards
- Develop and maintain group cash flow forecasts, including scenario modelling;
- Support management with FX and interest rate risk exposure;
- Monitor global cash positions to ensure operational liquidity and invest surplus funds in line with the Group’s investment strategy;
- Support the Group Financial Control team with ad-hoc projects as required.
Skills and Experience
- Holds a Chartered Accountancy qualification.
- Excellent understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS required.
- Excellent operational understanding of consolidation and intercompany elimination processes required.
- Detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of projects, is organized, possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and can deliver on deadlines.
- Highly motivated, hardworking, able to work in a fast-paced environment for an organization that has a matrix reporting structure.
- Partners well with people at all levels within the organisation.
- Top tier professional services background desirable.
- Experience with ERP systems desirable, ideally experience with NetSuite.
