What will you be doing
Argus seeks a driven, enthusiastic, naturally curious and hard-working market reporter to lead Canadian environmental markets coverage. The successful candidate will work closely with editors in Houston and Washington, DC, as well as with other editorial teams and business development, sales and marketing, consulting and conferences.
This is a unique opportunity to cover rapidly expanding biofuels and emissions markets in Canada. Coverage includes provincial and federal carbon credit and low-carbon fuel standard markets, renewable feedstocks and renewable fuels.
The role requires daily assessments of environmental markets and coverage of the news that drives them. Successful candidates will develop key market and industry contacts to cover the world of biofuels and emissions trading for online news and daily market intelligence reports.
Key responsibilities include writing market commentary and news stories while adhering to strict deadlines, assessing environmental markets by collecting data under strict compliance standards, developing and maintaining rapport with key contacts and liaising regularly with industry stakeholders.
What we are looking for in you
- The legal authorization to work in Canada.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, economics, business or related field.
- A commitment to the highest level of accuracy and the ability to complete all writing assignments within established deadlines.
- Knowledge of energy and environmental issues.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- The willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time to fulfil the responsibilities of this position.
