What we’re looking for
We are looking for an efficient Market Reporter to join our busy Chemicals team.
What will you be doing
The job is a challenging mix of reporting on market movements, assessing prices, analysing data, producing expert analysis and writing breaking news in the petrochemical trading industry.
For this role, Argus is seeking a reporter to cover Latin American polyolefins markets out of our Sao Paulo office. The reporter will primarily be tasked with researching and writing macro-economic analysis of the Latin American olefins markets, assessing and reporting on Latin American PVC markets and chlor-alkali markets researching and potentially launching other Latin American chemical price assessments and assisting the Latin American petrochemical editor as needed.
English, Portuguese and Spanish language skills are preferred. English and Portuguese fluency is required.
We provide extensive training in good writing, market assessment, industry understanding, source development, and data analysis.
There are many opportunities to travel, to meet contacts, and to present papers at conferences and on webinars. There are also opportunities to work in other Argus offices around the world.
Skills and Experience
- A graduate with a strong degree
- Ability to develop, source and write news to deadline
- Excellent written, grammatical and numeracy skills
- Ability to analyse data and write engaging content
- Excellent communication skills with aptitude to network and build contacts
- Prior experience of working in the financial, energy, or journalism sector is useful
