What will you be doing?
Argus is seeking an experienced business development manager with a background in refined products and in particular in Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) to drive and implement our strategic initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region.
We are looking for a highly self-driven professional who is both a proficient communicator and proven implementor with a successful track record of developing commodities pricing and indexation. This role requires a high degree of collaboration with colleagues across functions and the ability to learn about the intricacies of multiple markets simultaneously.
The VP leads our drive to promote indexation to Argus fuels assessments and use of Argus market reports across the refined products and aviation fuels markets in specific areas of the Asia-Pacific region. An advanced knowledge of refined products, trading the regulatory framework for biofuels & SAF as well as downstream fuel markets and how to develop pricing for these market is an advantage. The role will partner with other members of the regional and global business development, editorial, marketing and sales teams to drive prioritised initiatives around key market opportunities. Through these initiatives, we will accelerate the growth of our market reporting revenues and win market share.
The role reports directly to the SVP, Strategy & Business Development with a dotted line to the SVP Global Biofuels, and collaborates closely with the Head of Oil Sectors, Regional Editors and senior sales and marketing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive usage of Argus price assessments and products.
- Map the market and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Seek and identify new business opportunities for Argus in Asia-Pacific, identify and implement priorities along with global and regional leadership.
- Defend and extend existing benchmarks, partnering with editorial to ensure their continued use and relevance.
- Keep abreast of key changes in the oil products and aviation fuels markets to assess opportunities and risks.
- Demonstrate expertise on pricing and risk management issues.
- Travel extensively to further the goals of the region.
- Develop and deliver a regional plan in alignment with sector strategy.
- Represent Argus through external speaking events and other thought leadership opportunities, delivering data-driven presentations, with a focus on promoting Argus pricing.
- Hone effective messaging to promote Argus index solutions. Work with marketing to develop go-to-market plans.
- Partner with sales through identifying customer segments and supporting effective commercialisation.
- Identify opportunities to develop online transparency solutions, including our online platform Argus Open Markets (AOM).
